Our Story.

Hello!

We’re Elise & Charlie and the founders of Gaia Vibrance Wild Spa.

Our first date was at a Sauna! Soon after we met in 2019 we began to collaborate on all our work (whilst falling in love!).

We are both muscians with a particular passion for bringing people together to sing mantra and other devotional songs, we’re both yoga teachers, and Charlie is also a massage therapist and energy healer, while Elise is also a women’s empowerment coach, pilates instructor, and an enthusiastic community event organiser.

We love running our retreats, kirtan, yoga and sound healing events, (we also produce mantra albums too! Please visit www.eliseandcharlie.com to find out more), but when all our work got cancelled overnight during the first lockdown, the silver lining was, it made space for a bigger dream to unfold…

Locked down (and loving it) whilst turning our garden into an organic veg haven, we brainstormed with big pieces of paper our vision of what we truly feel called to create, were money no object.

We imagined being close to nature, working outside more, people camping/glamping, nights around campfires under the stars, a woodfired sauna and hot tub, a place for Charlie to massage and Elise to teach yoga, vibrant community events… a place where could bring all our offerings under one “roof” per say, in the most eco-friendly way, and expand the heart and soul of our work. Our vision of a Gaia Vibrance Wild Spa was born. And the search for its home began…

Then in the summer of 2021, whilst Elise was pregnant with our first baby, we struck gold. Elise’s sister (and incredibly talented artist) Camilla Rose was painting a mural at Mount Pleasant Eco Park on the North coast of Cornwall, and we joined her with our campervan for some summer sun, sand and sea. What we found at Mount Pleasant was pure joy for us! With the live music venue, annual music festival, vegan kitchen, all kinds of workshops and events, markets, forest school, organic veg garden, all with a vibrant community spirit, and just a short walk away from beautiful Porthtowan beach, we fell madly in love with this little paradise in Cornwall!

Sat outside our van, watching the sun set over the sea we imagined being sat in our Gaia Vibrance sauna, looking out across this incredible ocean view, and thought THIS IS IT!!!

Excited (and nervous) to “pitch” our idea to Tim, the owner of the Eco Park, we shared our ideas and were welcomed with a smile into this open hearted community.

From that point everything else just kept on flowing…

Friends introduced us to a lovely local sauna builder Eloi, who is making our bespoke 8 - 10 person sauna, ready for 2022’s summer season. We’re super excited to be up and running with our sauna events this year, but have 3 more important elements to come! A shepard hut style massage room, a large mongolian yurt for our community events, and an onsite office are all part of the picture, even though we are still in the process of manifesting the means to finance them.
